So I had a guy bring me a gun he wanted glass bedded. Noticed he had a rail on it with a built in bubble level. My first instinct was what a waste... but more I think about it, as long as the receiver is square and it is actually level when it says it is... might be helpful to have that. I have used ones that are attachments to the scope rings but this was built into the pic rail.
Have any of you guys used them? seen them? have thoughts on them. How would you compare to alternatives.

I have had them built into chassis and my scope base rings. I honestly can't say I've ever used them other than leveling things up before zeroing.

My Ivey mount has a built-in level... I use it often, but not always. It IS useful, especially when shooting from different positions. I've not seen one on a rail.

I think it would be useful when leveling up the scope while mounting but not sure how much it would be used in the field.
heck i may check it out when the bedding material cures completely.

I think if you are wanting to shoot for extreme accuracy at long distance it could be beneficial because a slight tilt in your gun can and will affect your POI worse the farther out you get. But for those of us who just hunt and dabble in long range shooting and super precision is not our game its probably not as critical. But still a cool feature if you are using a rail.
