Decided to try my hand at the remage barrel system and going with a 260 match barrel.  Anyone got any pet loads they suggest?  Its an 8 twist and will be used solely on the range to shoot steel and paper.  We have a place now set up with steel to 1200yds and thought it would be a good contender to do so.

Hi SVT

I'd be tempted to say a 144 or 153.5 gr Berger with Viht N540 or N555

Best wishes,

I used to shoot 260 Rem in steel matches.  Most of us have moved to a 6mm variant.

My most accurate 260 Rem load was:
140 gr Berger VLD Target
43.1 gr H-4350
CCI 200
Lapua brass full length sized
2.196" CBTO
2.85" COAL
1:8 twist 24" Bartlein
Surgeon action
2840 muzzle velocity
I don't remember how far off the lands.  Probably .020

As with any new load, start with a lower powder charge and work your way up.

260 is a nice round, I'll have to see what the load we used was.
