Hell Craig, you ain’t thin skinned my friend. You’re a good natured, honorable man who’s able to take things in stride and is as easy to get along with as anyone.

Bill on this. After reading of your commentary on your issue many times. It almost sounds like you are trying to upload a picture with the same file name as a picture you have already uploaded  The system will not allow that

Once i move my pics to my pc. I open them in paint. I then resize them by pixels and change them to 1280x1024 or 1024x1280 depending on which way the picture was taken. Horizontal or landscape. Then i save as and name the file something new so i am not duplicating the name.

By doing this they will always be under the OT file size limit rules and will have a unique name. Then when i upload the pic i just right click it, so i can copy the url path and then i can just  paste it in the post/reply box.

Of all the little issues with the OT the picture upload has nearly always been working. I upload a lot of pics and never have issue. Hopefully those things may help you out

Hi, Supertool,

Thank you were much for your input. I understand. But think I should explain more.

I have posted photos several times, sometimes with multiple images. But then, sometimes things go wrong from the get-go.

Recently, I tried to attach TWO images to my post. The SIZE was correct, the FILE TYPE was correct, the POSITION was correct. Although both images were of the SAME size, only the first of the TWO was posted. I DELETED the post to start over. When the same thing happened a second time, I tried again. This time I was told that the first image had been POSTED ... which it hadn’t because I DELETED the whole thing.

I made 2 more attempts. Both failed. So, I DELETE the post, again. The next time I looked, a THIRD image—a big as a house, and in the wrong position on the page—cropped up. But, EVERYTHING I had tried to post had been DELETED  3 TIMES, where did it come from?

At this point, the icon (the tree) stopped working altogether, as did other features. Like the little blue REPLY arrow which even today does NOTHING on my computer; I have to use the OPTIONS button.  I have no faith that the TINY IMAGE I want to post, today, will materialize. However, in case it doesn’t, it would have showed the icons for the inserted text but with absolutely NO FIELD (text box) or even a border of where one should be.

This didn’t used to be rocket science.

Others have counseled me to try another browser. I have tried more than one, the last being Google Chrome. Nothing changed.

Well, there you have it. Thanks again for your concern. Sorry to be such a pain.

Cheers,

Bill

PS The fact that I have had to start some posts over is my own fault. Some time ago, I determined that I would have to create all my responses in a Word processor (Word) and copy it because the program seems when it wants to pick and choose when I will be dumped and will have to start all over. Thus, this problem is all mine; I know better.

Instead of using word (or similar) which often brings in formatting errors and lots of code crap to deal with.  Just type out your post and if you think you are past the 10 minute time out, copy all your text.  Hit refresh and paste it back in the text box.

Here are some walk through instructions with pics I use for posting pics.  Just going through all the steps to see if it helps.  I think it helps to open two tabs to do this, then you can have one for the file manager center and one for the actual posting.  There are multiple ways to do this, this is just how I do it.

1. Click on member control panel
2.  Click on file manager
3.  Click on new upload.

(note the file explorer on the left.  This is where all the files need to have unique names)

4.  Click on browse

5.  It will bring up a file upload of your local machine.  Pick where the picture is located on your PC.   then click open.

6.  Click upload image.

7.  It should take you back to the file manager section and you will see your new image.  Here I jsut right click the image it brings up a dialog box and you should select copy image.

8.  Now just go back to the post you are creating and right click and paste your picture.

The you can post your message and the pictures should be included.

Supertool,

That is some beautiful information and I will take advantage of it as soon as I can. However, I got an email from KDP/Amazon.com during the night that says there are “ISSUES” with the files of my last book. This is after their digital reviewer told me—3 times—there were NO ISSUES! And after I saw NO ISSUES!

Were it not for Amazon’s reach, I would tell those guys in Mumbai to pack sand!

Again, thanks for your help. Please send me your real name to wjc1111@hotmail.com
