Hello! New guy here. Currently have a rifle being built and have a question on ring height. I've used the calculator but without having exact measurements some options are a bit too close for comfort. I'm out of the country for a few more months but I'm trying to get everything ordered for the rifle before I get back home. It's a Steiner P4xi 4-16x56 on top of a Stiller tac 30 with a 20moa rail. I'd like to keep the scope as close to bore as possible, but with an objective that large it may be tricky. Thanks in advance for the help!

Best to call in to SWFA and ask. When you use a plus 20moa canted rail it is often hard to second guess which ring height you want. Having room to run lens caps is a consideration also. To compound the confusion height between manufacturers is not always the same. Do you have a brand of rail that you have selected and do you have a preference of rings. Badger Ordnance would be a good choice but there are a lot of choices in 34mm. Badger Max50 High 1.00 (all steel heavy both are 6 screw) Badger medium high 1.125 <========<<<< best guess one of the two of these possibly this 1.0 USMC version : (one ring has 6 screws the other is 4 screws) these are pretty high Badger Extra high 1.375 Badger USMC SASR 1.49 TAlley Tactical Extra High 1.44 Steiner T series High 1.25 Edited by Urimaginaryfrnd - December/22/2019 at 15:49 |

I have that same scope on a chassis gun and it required AR height rings. When I first talked with Seekins they said the low would work on an M700 with a heavy profile barrel.
SWFA should be able to help. |
