This will be my precision rifle scope on a Savage 12 BVSS 300 WSM. The gun shoots 0.75 Mona at 100yds and I would like to stretch it’s legs out to 1000 yds.
Regarding features, turrets, etc, I believe these 2 scopes are very close.....I would like some glass opinions from those who have used both, especially at 25x. Thanks. |

PST Gen 2 is a better scope optically.

In what way? I have the XTR....it is ok, but I’m just a bit disappointed in the clarity at high magnification.
I’m trying to decide if the PST is worth buying to replace... |

Optically, it is better than XTR II in every way: better contrast, better resolution and less distortion. ILya

Not to mention the XTR gets a dark image for some reason. I suspect it's the coatings....The PST's are very good at their respective price points.

well, I found a guy who wanted an even swap. To my eye, the PST Gen II is better optically, a bit weird to zero elevation, but a great scope.
