I'm looking for a scope for my .223 still not sure what scope I should get. Here some specs of what I want.
Min Magnification 12x better something like 15x Some sort of Mil or MOA reticle preferred (not a huge fan of BDC reticles for just one caliber and bullet weight) Tactical turret are no must Don't need an illuminated reticle preferred 30mm tube max. 50mm lens
Was looking at the Vortex Viper 6.5-20x50 PA, Bushnell AR Optics 4,5-18x40 SF, Vortex Diamondback HP 4-16x42, Minox ZA 5 HD 3-15x50 SF
Anyone got experience with one of the listed ones? Appreciate any help. Thanks :) |

SWFA SS 3-15x42 should be near the top of your list.
Generally, what's your budget? |

Well I'm from Europe and never heard of SWFA. Don't seems like I can get one here anywere. I'm actually trying to decide between the Vortex Viper 6.5-20x50 PA and Minox ZA 5 HD 3-15x50 SF. Heard that the optical quality of the minox is really good but doesn't track very good. budget is about 400-450€ (470-530USD)

They are harder to get in Europe.
ZA5 HD is better optically and tracking on the one I tested was reasonable. I am not entirely up to speed on Euro prices, but I would also look at Delta Titanium line. They have a very respectable 2.5-15x50 model. Vortex 6.5-20x had been really rock solid in my experience. Mechanically, it seems to hold up better than Minox ZA5. Finally, Sightron S-TAC 3-17x42 and 4-20x50 should be on your list. ILya |

The Delta is way overpriced here. The Sightron looks interesting. How is it compared to the Vortex?

It's a really hard choice... But if the turrets not working properly maybe.. There lots of reviews of the vortex and also quite a few of the sightron. Also found Athlon scopes maybe an option. I really like the minox but there very mixed reviews about it.

The basic problem with ZA-5 HD is that there was an issue with the company that was assemblign them for Minox. It started out OK, but then they had QC issues. However, a lot of people who bought ZA-5HD and had issued, got ZX5 as a replacement, which is a much better scope.
Sightron S-Tac is a very respectable scope and eveyone I know who tried one is happy. ILya

THis is true. I loved my ZA5 optically, but I was told nearly every one of them has gone back for service. Mine was replaced with a ZX 5 which is a 30mm scope and its incredible. |

the new 2nd generation minox zx5 3x15x50mm I really something to look through rumors has it the the 2nd generation zxs have all Schott glass the reticle problem has been addressed, I've matched with a viper post 6x30x50mm and it was a lot,lot nicer huge eye box field a view .please this scope a chance and look. Read through outdoor life 2016 scope shootout and see how the 1st generation zx5ix25x56mm placed.
