What's your pet load?

I have some loaded with H414 I need to shoot and see how they do. 120gr BT's and 140gr Accutips.

I am loading some 140's with the CFE223 to see what it shoots like.

We refer to that caliber as the "7mm Winkle" here in these parts. Wink

Similar to JG...

42 gr Varget for 139 GMX & 140 Accubond.

41 gr Varget 150 ELD-X.

Had good luck with IMR 4350, H4350, and RL15 too, but the latter is reportedly temp sensitive, so I've shied away from it nowadays.

Hard to go wrong with Varget.

I loaded some 140 gr Remington Accutips with CFE223 and BL-C(2) last night to see how they do.

I have some 120 gr BT's loaded with H414 and also the same bullet above with H414 so I am going to see how they do out of my Ruger M77 Carbine.

I can't always find varget, unless I want to go to Bass Pro and pay a premium, which is prob still cheaper than the hazmat fee and mail order.

But I will have to go there for bullets unless I mail order, or only want Hornady's, that is all Academy sells. And their 7mm selection was a little low the other day.

I heard IMR 4064 is a good choice too. And I could use in my 308.

Yes, 4064 is a good 7-08 powder. It works well in every cartridge based on the .308 parent case.

42.5gr Varget behind a 120 TTSX works well for me.

I found one my Ruger M77 Mk II stainless laminate liked. Was just under an 1 inch at 100 yards, with a 16.5 in barrel, and all stock gun. Nikon Monarch UCC 3-9x40. Off my Allen bag thing.

42g CFE223 and a 140gr Remington Accutip. CCI primer, no idea on case, probably a Remington or Hornady.

I just looked at the range listed for the powder and picked something hotter than a starting load. 42.5 gr didn't shoot nearly as well.

I have one that I need to tinker more with. 120g Nosler BT and I believe 48g H414. It has potential I think. I read that powder is a really good one for this caliber.

For that gun, I'll take the CFE load and be happy. It was a little low compared to ballistic silvertip factory ammo. Needs a trigger job.

Back when Hornady still made the 162Amax,it shot very well out of my factory Remington 1 in 9 barrel over I believe 42gr of H-4350. That was a pretty stiff load in my rifle, but very accurate.
If it is tourist season, why can't we shoot them?
