Well...... I found a Win 70 Stealth in 223 for a steal and picked it up.  Unmolested, clean, appears fired very little.  Going to cut and thread the barrel and see what she'll do.  Kinda heavy right now but I just love win 70 actions.....

Thinking a 6.5 custom build.... for later

Examined it well last night.  Winchester records show it as a 1998 manufacture date with a 1:9 twist..... using the dowel method and testing it I get an actual twist of 1:8..... tested it several times..... glad its faster than expected but would have rather had a 1:7 for sure.

The HS stock is nice, has a Remington PSS feel, smooth trigger and feeds good.   Got to get a rail and optic mounted as well.  Going to shoot it first before trimming the barrel.

Good find.  I hope it is a shooter for you.
Lifetime warranty and excellent customer service don't mean a thing when your gun fails during a zombie attack.
