I have found an add for an older Kahles Helia S4 and a newer Zeiss Victory 4x for a reasonable price. I am after a scope for my 22 rimfire for low light shooting. Does anyone know how the Kahles Parralax will be for closer range shooting? I know the Victory was available in rimfire version, with parallax set for shorter distance. Any ideas how each will compare in low light?

I own a Kahles 3x9x42 and an older Zeiss Conquest in 4.5x14x44. Both scopes have great glass with a slight edge to the Kahles. As far as low light situations go either of these are fine however I would attempt to find the Zeiss in 4.5x14x50. Fairly affordable and just that much better in low light. It will be my next scope purchase. I shoot rim fire and pcp rifles. Good luck !

The Kahles Helia S4 is from the sixties..... the "s" stands for STEEL.....go with a modern scope....although I bet the Kahles would STILL WORK!!!
