I am in the market for a new scope. I am down to 2 scopes and wanting opinions on which one is better in quality of image, warranty, and overall of a scope. The 1st one is a Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 SFP, the other will be the Zeiss Conquest HD5 5-25x50. I own 4 other Vortex Scopes (Strikefire, Sparc, Diamondback, Viper) and I do like them I like the warranty of them also. But I am now wanting a better scope. I can get both for about the same amount of money. I am not familiar with Zeiss warranty and process if something does go wrong. My father has an older Conquest I believe it was a 6-20 on his rifle I use to use. I enjoyed using it in the early morning and loved the image. Just wanting people's opinion between the two. It will be mainly sitting on a CZ 453 and target shooting but I will be putting it on a Rem. 700 7mmMag & TC Dimension 7mm-08 when I travel and need a better scope then what is one them now for the hunt. I will be shooting at most is 600 yards with my 7mmMag, 350 in the 7mm-08, & 200 in a 17HMR. I am wanting a scope that will be able to last for a long time and also the peace of mind if something happens to it I can get it repaired.

I had a 3.5-10x Conquest go TU on me. Zeiss replaced it rather quickly and courteously.
The lady I talked to at Zeiss USA "sounded" hot too, as I recall.

I have a 4.5-14x50 Conquest and I love it. The 6-20x50 Conquest is kind of limited in it's adjustment because of the 1 inch tube, but I don't know about the 5-25x50 adjustment range. Considering that 600yds. will be your maximum range for 7mm Magnum, then you should be fine with adjustments. If it was me, I'd go with the Conquest, but I'm just biased towards  Zeiss glass.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.
