Gotta love the Patriots… they are unafraid to play the game…

Two pretty good games yesterday. Home teams prevailed. Scam Newton looked "skert" in that game.

It was a rough game for the Panthers.  I was leaning toward Seattle, since my Marine SIL is from Seattle and loves that team with a passion, but really didn't care one way or the other.  Newton did look "unprepared" in my mind.  He didn't seem to always know what he was supposed to do.

Not a Panther fan, or a Cam Newton fan, (long story), but in fairness, that Seattle D is ON FIRE.....

First IMPORTANT game I've seen the Cowboys lose that I can't say it was Romo's fault.  The defense did not play up to par, offense had several "letdowns".  Overall a great game, but the Cowboys just came up short to an outstanding Green Bay team.  The Acme Packers… great game.

How is it that no matter what personnel they have on the team each season, with a revolving door of different players, Belichick and Brady still manage to have the Patriots playing at an elite level, every year? Somehow, they elevate everyone around them. I can't stand the Patriots, but I gotta give credit where credit is due... BB is a HOF head coach, and TB will have a whole wing of the building at Canton devoted to him!

I can't say I've ever seen a more thorough beatdown in a conference championship game, ever!

How true. Blount ran WILD yesterday! Not sure how many yards he ended up with, but he was a BEAST.

Glad to see the packers get sent...packing. Big Grin

What is everyone's thoughts on this whole ball under-inflation controversy with the Patriots, (Re: "Inflate-Gate")?

Even if true, I'm certain it wouldn't have had an impact on the outcome of their game vs. the Colts, given the magnitude of the complete beat-down. Nevertheless, I believe this scandal really hurts the integrity of the game, especially given the past accusations of the Pats "spying" on other teams and the negative stigma associated with that.

I heard excerpts from Belichick's press conference on this topic, and it sounded to me like he basically threw Tom Brady under the bus! Then on top of that, John Madden, Troy Aikman, and a few others were saying that basically TB would've been the one responsible for verifying the condition of the ball, and any wrongdoing, if there was any, lies directly on his shoulders.

I first thought this was a ridiculous non-story, but it's starting to turn into a much bigger deal than it first appeared. The NFL seems pretty concerned about this. Could get interesting!

On a similar note, I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting sick of hearing the media adding the word "-gate" to every single scandal that comes up in every single aspect of life. That term lost its cleverness and originality a long time ago.

Hahaha...I'd wager a vast majority of people now reading anything-gate, won't know where it started from.

NFL....(yawn) I'm taking the 'Hawks, I guess. (yawn)

Hope the SB has "on-field" drama like the NFC game last week.
