Supposing you're buying new, what do you guys think is the best value for a fluid head for spotting scope. Feel free to chime in with best in general irrespective of price.

I have and use a Ravelli AVTP Professional 75mm Video Camera Tripod with Fluid Drag Head, it is a rather big bodied tripod but very very stable. I have it sitting in one of the large windows of our dining room overlooking a large field holding a vortex razor 20 - 60 x 80 spotting scope.

It travels well and the build quality is very good. My friends and family love scanning and panting with this tripod as it is very fluid in motion and does a very good job of tracking moving animals etc....

Best of all it can be had second day air for free if you're a prime number on Amazon for right around $150. If you do your homework it won't take you long to realize what a value this is given the fact that many other manufacturers offer the same or lesser quality for over double that price. I do know that this same company makes other fluid head offerings that are intended for more portable use etc....

Good luck in your search.
