Looking to mount a scope on my Ruger and looking for ideas. I have a Simmons 8 point 3-9x40 on hand, or am thinking about getting a Bushnell Banner 4x32 rimfire scope. I will need 1" rings in any case. I don't shoot this rifle much, so cost is important. Ring size recs. would be appreciated also. |

I have used BSA Sweet 22 for years on my 10/22. The BDC is very accurate, the glass is acceptable, it was easy to zero and has held the same zero over the years. When I first got it, I checked out several different grain bullets and found that my rifle likes 40gr best, I've not re-zeroed since. Mine is a 6-18, but I am thinking of purchasing the 3-9 Sweet 22 SWFA has on sale right now. Though I'm not much of a 3-9 fan, I find 6x on the low end much more limiting than 9x would be on the high end. There have been a few close, high speed shots that have been very difficult because of the 6x magnification. I don't know how the 3-9 will hold up compared to my 6-18, but at $50.00 it is hard to turn down. |

Thanks for that, but I would not mount that big turreted thing on a 10/22. I am looking for something more simple. I am thinking now about just getting a mount and rings for my Simmons. |

I have the Weaver 2.5-7x28 Classic Rimfire scope, and I like it a lot for the money ($160).
