Just received the spotting scope and would like some recommendations for a tripod.
I do not plan on doing much walking with it. I would like something very stable.

Stability?

A Manfrotto 055XB with Manfrotto 701HDV head would be a good, stable combo without being overly heavy.

Induro tripods are worth a look. Second the 701HDV head. 500AH which replaces them,IMHO their plates if you need to buy one are WAY over priced. About 3X the price of the 701HDV plates.
