I picked up a Marlin (remlin) XT-22TSR a while back and I love it. Shoots great with the iron sights or with a dovetail mounted el cheapo red dot. Grab a spee-D-loader and throw it in the jeep, lots of fun. So I got to thinking, gee what'll this thing do with a real scope? Ordered up some weaver bases. Put on a nikon buckmaster (that probably cost 3x what the rifle did) and burris signature zee rings I had from another project.
Sighted in at ~50 yards, even with the scope dialed all the way left it still shoots about 5 inches to the right! Is it possible I fumbled the mounting that poorly? I've mounted a bunch of scopes and never had one that needed more than an a few clicks of adjustment. The only thing I could think of was to order some of those offset inserts to bring it back to center. Any other ideas? |

try getting some rings to fit the grooved receiver. That way there is a lot fewer parts involved.

It's not all that uncommon for the mounting holes on low cost 22s to be drilled out of ling with the barrel. If that's the problem then the most economical way of dealing with this is the idea suggested by 3_tens.
