However, I just wrote a message to Don Snyder pledging my allegiance to my #2 team... the Washington Redskins.
I have always "pulled for" ANY team playing against the Redskins... no longer. They may even win my support for Sunday's game... I'm a bit fed up with Romo.
The Washington Redskins are making a stand... a stand FOR freedom, AGAINST "political correctness" and all its small, petty, mealymouthed proponents. God Bless the Washington Redskins (never thought I'd say that... I've never really wished them any harm, but NEVER thought of asking for God's Grace for them).
Don Snyder deserves support, deserves the recognition for being the "stand up" kind of guy he is. Go Redskins...

Well, it was a good game… too little, too late. Defense showed promise. Heartbreaking loss. There were moments when I really questioned the play calling, but I'm not a coach, so que sera…

Jones doesn't have the cajones to make that change… hell, he's happy Romo is coming back next season...

I don't believe any upper tier coach would be willing to work under the conditions Jerry Jones would put him under. The coach of the Dallas Cowboys has the unenviable position of having to make the best of what he's given, deal with stupid personnel decisions, AND placate his boss all at the same time... all while swallowing his pride and biting his tongue so as to not tell the media what really needs to happen to win football games. I really feel sorry for Jason Garrett. Until Jerry relinquishes the reins on the field and allows a coaching staff to do what really needs to be done to get beyond mediocre, they will continue to be mediocre.
I've never seen a better definition of "mediocre" than the Dallas Cowboys. Personally, I'd rather see my team have a 2-14 season than continually finish 8-8, 9-7, etc. and miss the playoffs. At least if you completely tank, you only have one direction you can go from there, you get a great draft position, and there's hope for the future. The Cowboys are continually mired in the lukewarm middle of the pack, a position from which they are seemingly unable to emerge. It's why I cannot be a Cowboys fan anymore. I can't take the mind-numbing same ole, same ole mediocrity year after year. |

That's brilliant!!! Jerry is the current incarnation of Al Davis, without a doubt. |

Ah I'm still sore over the Bears-Packers game yesterday. What a bunch of crap!
I just KNEW when they announced that Rodgers was released to play, that he would come into Soldier Field and pull a win out of his hat. The Bears "D" is ranked 29th against the run?!?! Huh?? What?? Cutler's contract is up and I hope they dump him. He had a decent game yesterday, but I NEVER have liked him even when he played at Vandy in college. Out..

Ted, you are right on about Jerry Jones and the Cowboys. I DO feel sorry for Jason Garrett… he did well before JJ took over the reins from him.
I can't say I'll no longer be a Cowboys fan, but I won't go out of my way to watch another game… at least as long as they operate under current mis-management...

When Jimmy Johnson was the head coach...and they were kicking ass. Of course, Jerry's inner Al Davis soon emerged, and Jimmy would have none of it and left. His and Jerry's personalities couldn't co-exist for long. While he was there, Jimmy had total autonomy on personnel decisions, who would start, play calling, etc. and ruled the on-field action with an iron fist. He butted heads with Jerry over this fact repeatedly, but refused to yield to Jerry's demands. Jimmy was a helluva coach and evaluator of talent, and they managed to assemble some of the greatest dynasties pro football has ever seen, right up there with the Steelers of the 1970's. Of course, that was after Jerry had just bought the team and was just thrilled to be winning and watching the money pour in like rain. Then, Jerry's Texas-sized ego took over, and he infamously stated that he can win Super Bowls with any number of other coaches, and he didn't need Jimmy Johnson to do it. Barry Switzer was subsequently hired and won a SB with Jimmy's team, not because of but in spite of Barry. I think I could have coached a team at least deep into the playoffs that included Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin, Jay Novacek, Larry Allen, Ken Norton Jr., Tony Casillas, Darren Woodson, Kevin Smith, along with the biggest, most dominant line in all of football, who'd already won 2 SB's. Jerry hasn't fielded a winner since he took over as GM. Parcells started to rebuild the nucleus of a good team again, but he too couldn't tolerate Jerry's micromanagement. Jerry evidently is too blinded by his massive ego to realize that the formula that produced success in the past is vastly different from his current management model. |

I meant during Garret's tenure, as I thought Dan alluded to.

When Garrett first took over the team, he was leading… there were even comments about how long he would last not toeing the JJ line… then suddenly JJ exerted his "power" and the team has been mediocre ever since.
