No, it's not bold at all; it's actually pretty thin, which is the only weakness I can think of for that scope/reticle combo. The Zeiss Z-plex is MUCH bolder. It's still usable, it's just not as bold as I'd prefer for low light use. I have a CL2-7X36 with plex reticle, and I wish it had the 4A reticle.

Agreed. I doubt a finer 2-7X scope has ever been created before or since the legendary Kahles CL 2-7X36. I consider it the Holy Grail of 1" tube, compact "tweener" scopes.

Have three of the CL 2-7s in 4a and MultiZero.  Great scopes.  The plex is not my choice for the CL series.  I have one on a 3-9 CL, but it is for long range use.  Not the first scopes I would sell from my stash.

Love love love the 4a reticle on the 2-7x36 scope, very fast, brings your eye to the center very quickly.
