Now that we have a 100 yd indoor rifle range in Conroe, I've been taking my rifles one by one to rezero them without having to work around the wind. Finally got the Ruger Hawkeye back out and put some of the 270gr Hornady loads downrange. This is the final 3-shot group at 100 yds (the black center ring is 1 1/2" in diameter). The ones before were a little bigger, but none more than 1 1/2". The Leupold VX-R 2-7 in Warne QD rings seems to be holding up well so far. I realize this isn't spectacular accuracy and 3-shot groups don't tell the full story, but it's more than adequate for it's intended purpose.

Plenty accurate for a 375, happy hunting.

Thanks. Bought it for bear for when I get to Montana. Saw a few "medium-sized" grizzlies in captivity in West Yellowstone earlier this year, and they made me wonder if even this was enough gun, but the Hornady guys say this caliber/bullet combo is great on even the bigger bears. Don't plan on hunting them on purpose, but I wouldn't think there'd be time for many shots if one was unhappy with you. Hope this is enough.

It will be plenty for Montana bears should you happen to make on mad somehow.  I should even do the trick on whatever other animals you decide need shooting.

It's legal for the big 5.  You should be fine with it for grizz.  Nice shooting.  A lot tougher to shoot a tight group with that size cartridge for most folks.  Recoil/flinching starts to factor in.
