I'm looking for decent hunting binoculars. I see sightron has a special going now and I was wondering what you guys thought about the S3's.

With the special going on, would the Sightron s3 10x42 binoculars be the best out of the ~200.00 class range? Or would there be a better choice.

Thanks in advance

Based on the last $200.00 topic, these were some other choices.

ZR HD 10x42

Vortex Diamondback 10x50

Alpen Apex XP 697 10x50

Alpen 388 Shasta Ridge 10x50

Minox BV either 10x42 or 8x56

Any others to consider????

I believe Mr Robertson also added pentax  to the list as well

How would the sightron s3's compare to these?

I've had the 8x42 for a couple of years now and use them for hunting.  I haven't ever compared them to any other binoculars side by side, but they seem as good as or better than my friends Nikon Monarchs.  I think they are well worth the closeout price.  I purchased mine for a similar price on closeout at the time.  To me they seem pretty light for 42mm objectives.
