I am old and need at least 9 power to accurately shoot sub MOA at 100 yards, and I need over 18 power to shoot sub MOA at 200 yards. Since I want to shoot my AR 15 223 Wylde at 500 yards, I figure I need at least 24 power and perhaps as much as 32 power.
I have been able to shoot 1.2 inch 3 shot groups at 200 yards with BH 52 grn HP Match, this week cold bore first shot dead center bullseye at 200 yards. This with a Simmons 6-16x50 that is blurry at 16 power. Prior to 3 weeks ago I never shot over 100 yards, still learning to shoot rifles.
But I just can't afford a $500 scope. Something under $300 would be good. I don't care about the weight as this is for bench shooting. Have a Nikon 3-9 for huntings and 100 yard shooting with my 6.8 SPC
Looking at the following:
Nikko Stirling 6-24x56 Nighteater 30mm Riflescope - Their web site states they are using grade A Japanese optics. And the Mueller Target dot 8-32x44 or the Eraticator 8-25x50Any suggestions or reviews of these scopes?
Also spotted the Konus Pro M30 6-24x52 and the Simmons Predator Quest 6-24x50

I had Swift 4-12 Premier. Have a couple of acquaintances who have Swift scopes, one has the 8-32 on a 22-250. I see him at the range now and then. It is a very nice low dollar scope with great warranty. I gave my Swift away to someone who was in need... needed it more than I did... He was on OT looking for a 4-12 scope to teach his handicapped, but recovering daughter how to hunt, devastated from Dr/hospital bills. I took the Swift w/ TPS rings off my 243 BAR and a set of Millet Angle-Loc rings just in case, located his address and sent it to him. Told him if he ever didn't need/want it anymore, just pass it on. Last I heard his daughter was becoming an accomplished hunter and loved the scope. He mounted it with the Angle-Locs, sent the TPS back. I told you that only to let you know how highly I thought of that scope. I would never do that with something I thought inferior.
I do not own anything in 223, or 5.56. Once vowed I never would... but I may be on the verge of changing my mind. Enough years have passed... You might be thinking of my BSA Sweet 22...

The BSA is OK... I paid 39.99 for it and it performs pretty well on the 10/22. It is very "dark" in low light, has edge effects, tunnels and is a bit (little bit) blurry at 18x... but the BDC is dead on for 40gr Thunderbolts, it does pretty much all I need... I would like it brighter in low light... my best shots with it have been on crows at 96-110 yards. They no longer come within that range of my house...
