First I would like to say, That I have been lurking for about 4 months so far,
and I find that this is a very easy site to get real life advice and information without all the extra crap
that usually follows. So.... anyway I just got a Marlin 60 for a present and so far I like it ( 2 trips to indoor range) nothing more than 50 feet. I am going to put a cheap scope on it pretty sure it's gonna be this  http://www.competitorss.com/product.cfm?contentID=productDetail&prodID=OS22618X40AO

I know it's not top O line , but come on not to bad.

My question, what would be the middle weavers rings to use for mounting?

Thank you for you r help!

It's bad manners to post a link to a competitors site so I assume that it was blocked.

For a model 60 I'd go with a Weaver RV7 2.5-7x28 Rimfire. It's a decent scope.

SWFA sponsors the forums and only asks that nobody post links to competitors. A few members are employed there (note I didn't say "work" Smile) but most of us are just optics nuts or just nuts in general. I fall into one of the last two categories. Big Grin

See if you can find the scope on SWFA's site and post that link. Oh and they do price match. For a model 60 I'd go with a 2-7x or 3-9x rimfire scope. It's a nice light and handy rifle with pretty good accuracy. I haven't shot a Model 60 in years but I've read that scope rail is pretty soft and have read suggestions for using a mount that clamps to the full length of the rail but I don't know if SWFA carries anything like that.

Let me know what scope you pick and I'll help you figure out ring height.

When you sign up there is a time when one reads the rules - they explain what you missed.
Fine to ask about different scopes but posting a link to a competitor is a NO NO.
As for 2 scopes I like a 2-7 Weaver rimfire or a red dot which can be really handy if you  hunt coons at night.  Rimfire scopes usually have parallax set at 50 yds where other scopes set parallax at 100 yds.
If you use a non rimfire scope just dial down the power when you are shooting closer.
