I have an H&R Ultra slug hunter in 20 gauge. Thinking about this scope.

Only issue may be the parallax setting. Its minor but may be enough to aggravate you

This scope and reticle combination is a great choice. It has a steel tube and is a bit heavier than aluminum scopes. The extra oz's don't amount to much on a slug gun, though.
Parallax on all of my fixed 4X scopes is a non-issue for all hunting conditions. Edited by tahqua - December/02/2011 at 12:39 |

Having hunted in shotgun only areas for many years, my preference is for a low power varible or a straight power 1.5x or 2.5x scope.
I understand that slugs and slug guns have come a long way in the past twenty years or so, but the 'cover' and conditions haven't changed much. To me, FOV is a primary concern.
Personally, I'm more than a little dismayed that quality 2.5x scopes have been pretty much abandoned by the manufacturers.

Leupold still makes 2.5's and the recently reintroduced 3X
The IOR has some fans around here. I have not heard anything negative on it. |
