Can someone help me learn the difference between a Rifle scope and a shotgun scope?

Not much....other than shock resistance.   Also most shotguns don't shoot out past 100-200yds so a longer range scope isn't necessary

Generally a shot gun or muzzle loader scope have lower power magnification ,due to the blaze arms shorter effective range . as well as lesser objectives lenses on them so that they can be mounted smaller and closer to the receiver . so correct view picture through them is obtained with out having to raise your head off the stock to to get that sight image. like you would have to do with a scope with a 40-50 mm objective lens and higher scope rings.

Usually a shotgun scope will be set to be parallax free somewhere between 50-75yds (depending on the manufacturer), while a rifle scope will be set to parallax free at 100-150yds  (again depending on the company). The shotgun scopes that I've used also had extra long eye relief.
