Well,I'm about frustrated with my sample list scope purchase of a Leupold 3.5-10 X 50 VX III for My Sako 75 Finnlite 270. My Optilocks,{which I bought used cheap}, are too low for this scope even though they worked with plenty of clearence on the 50mm scopes I was able to handle locally.
I'm either going to have to find some rings or I'm going to eat the shipping and send this back and get the Zeiss Conquest 3X9 40mm. I don't want to pay $100 plus for a set of rings and I am starting to be very upset with the Sako dovetail in general.
I thought I would go with Warne but it seems they are discontinued. The Optilocks seem to have too many parts for a gun that already has integral bases.I hear Talley makes some but can't get any info about them and they are reported to be expensive too. Leupolds are expensive plus I hear they aren't that great.
I see that SWFA has the Burris bases for Sako. They are priced well but the design doesn't inspire confidence.Maby I'm wrong. What do you folks think about the Burris rings and bases for a Sako 75?
Would you go with the high Signature rings? The plastic inserts are about all I like about the Optilocks.
Sorry to sound desperate but time is running out for me to send this scope back if I can't find a good solution.
