I got to sneak off Sunday for the R100. We shot the African/mix course of 50. There is also a North American course 50 targets also but we ran out of time. It was a good shoot. Here is the link if it close to where you are check it out. They also give away cool door prizes. This is a few pic's of the targets I snaped on my phone.
The guy is 6foot tall

One of the best shots I ever pulled off with my recurve was at that giraffe. We camped at the shoot, and a buddy bet me $1 I couldn't hit the giraffe from our campsite. I took an arrow, completely guessed at the elevation, and stuck it right where the front leg intersects the body slightly below and in front of the foam insert. A compound guy with a laser rangefinder came over and said it was 110 yards. All-time lucky shot... But the kicker was that my buddy said he had to get a chance to win his $1 back. He flung one and bounced it off the top edge of the giraffe's back. I counted it.
I thought it was really neat how the African animals had real horns. Pretty cool shoot. The only bad part was that it was mostly set up to walk down a field or wood line and shoot the targets down straight shooting lanes. I like to walk through the woods in a 3D shoot. But then again, that wouldn't really be feasible with so many targets. Especially as big as some of them are. |
