Have a Stealth Hunter and the 4 power is a little too much... Don't know the type of hunting your doing but if it is brush to 100 yards you'll be happier with the 2 power.

2X isn't much if you're shooting over 50 yds.  4X is sometimes too much.  I have Burris 2-7X32's on both my Freedom Arms, and I highly recommend them.  I like 3X for most hunting but go up to 5X on occasion and use 7X for long range targets.  If you want a Leupold, look at the 2.5-8X32.  Burris is a better deal though.  Also, I found the 20mm objective lens to be inadequate in low light.  I had a 2X20 at first.  The 32mm objective makes a huge difference.

I like the 1X Burris on my encore 45-70 pistol. I would say definately the 2x would be better for hunting than the 4x. With the 1X eye relief is not a factor it comes instantly on target and the 2X should be almost as fast. At 4x you better be able to rest the pistol on something solid. You might think about an aimpoint also.

If you have the budget for it the variable Leupold is very nice ( I didnt like my 3-12 Burris for hunting).
