Were is the key word. Many moons ago, Tasco did indeed make a scope called the super sniper. SWFA bought the design rights and such and has them made now. I've heard Bushnell makes them for SWFA, but am not sure. The old original Tasco's were pretty good scopes. They were made before Tasco took a huge downturn in product quality.

When made by Tasco, they were purpose-built to compete for a miliary contract (to replace the Leupold 10X scopes, Mk4 Ultras, I think.) Eventually, Leupold decided to keep the contract, and Tasco let go of the scopes, SWFA stepped in.
For the money, they are the best fixed 10X scopes on the tactical scope market. Bushnell does cover the warranty for the SS scopes, but not sure where or by whom they are made. |

The new HD model and the variable are very very different from the older models and not made in the same factory, radically improved glass.

The 10x HD does have an adjustable objective the 3-9 does not but since the 3-9 is First Focal Plane if you have a chart of your trajectory in mils you can use the mil dots for known hold over marks at any power which is particularly useful in low light as you can dial down to 6x to get maximum brightness and still use the mil dots for hold over marks like a balistic reticle. Both are a size that is user friendly where a lot of tactical optics are huge scopes.
