I'm trying to determine if I can fit a Badger Ordnance (or any other 1-piece) mount on my Howa Model 1500 (has Rem 700 contours).
I've already tried a Mark 4 1-piece for Rem 700 short action, and it was too short. Rumor has it the long action may fit, and rumor has it the long action may not fit ('course Leupold doesn't make a Mark 4 1-piece mount in long action, but Badger does). Does anyone have any confirmation one way or the other? Of course I can drill and tap a new hole or two, but I'd like to know if I need to plan for that. -Rob |

I learned something that answers my question, so I'll record it here for completeness.
Ken Farrell at http://www.kenfarrell.com now makes a 0- and 20-MOA canted one-piece mount for Howa 1500, and since the Howa 1500 is essentially the same as the Weatherby Vanguard, Smith and Wesson 1500, and Mossberg 1500, I'd expect his bases would work for those too, and at $60 it's quite a steal. -Rob |
