Weaver Optics 40/44 Riflescope Wins Field & Stream Best of Best Award
ONALASKA, Wis. - September 3, 2009 - Weaver® Optics is pleased to announce their new 40/44™ series of riflescopes has captured Field & Stream's coveted 2009 "Best of the Best Award" in the optics category. This honor marks the one-year anniversary of Weaver Optics' return to the ATK family of brands and demonstrates ATK's commitment to the optics market.
40/44 series resonates with users Introduced in early 2009, the 40/44 series was designed to satisfy the value shopper looking to get the most scope for their money. According to Tom Knudtson, Weaver product line manager, "In tough economic times, when even the most avid shooters become a little value-conscious it's important to have quality products geared for all budgets. We feel the 40/44 series is one such product." Evidently the folks at Field & Stream seem to agree, when they claimed "saying you can't go wrong for the price here is an understatement." Best of the Best criteria To be awarded "Best of the Best" status from Field & Stream, products must pass an intensive array of testing for performance and reliability. Among other tests, Weaver's 40/44 3-9x40mm riflescope successfully passed the stringent requirements of being: • subjected to the shock of firing 325-grain .45/70 loads • frozen and then submerged into warm water for five minutes with the turret caps removed to test for fogging or leaking • repeatedly adjusted to test the ¼ MOA for consistency and accuracy With 500 products submitted for testing and 27 experienced field testers pushing them to the max, only a surviving few remained to be crowned "Best of the Best." Packed with features Weaver's 40/44 series are comprised of scopes that possess either 40mm or 44mm objectives and contain features shooters have come to expect in quality glass. Things like fully multi-coated lenses, waterproof/shockproof/fogproof performance and one-piece tube construction. Other elements that make the 40/44 series a Field & Stream "Best of the Best" winner are: • broad range of magnification ranges • aspherical lens system (on some models) • Ballistic-X reticle • rugged construction • bright, clear glass that performs in low light conditions |
