so about 2 months ago I got a pair of these 10x42, really like them so far although have not had a chance to use them in the field. What I am concerned about is that they are only covered for 5 years, because of the electronics, so I asked leica  what if after 5 years some thing goes wrong with the bino part of them, they said they could not seperate the two and it wouldn't be covered. After spending that much money I would like to feel better about them lasting for the years to come. This is my first big bino buy  and since they are next to new I want to know I have the right binoculars. What do you think? stick with them or trade them in for swaros, zeiss or other lecias, thanks for your time.

You are stressing over problems that don't even exist.  They can always be repaired should something happen later, but I doubt anything will.  Leica builds the absolute most durable binoculars on the planet.  The previous model Geovid had little to no problems and the latest Geovid is light years ahead of it.

Keep them and be happy knowing that you own the world's finest binocular and laser rangefinder.
