What brand and model of scope are we talking about? Some companies like Zeiss, you can send your scope in to, and for a small fee, they will add the target turrets for you. I'm sure some others do too.

I am debating what scope to buy as well which is one of the reason I was asking about being able to change turrets.

I am looking for a scope to use in a .22 tactical match.   .308 is too expensive to shoot all the time and my son is now shooting alot as well which is another shooting habit too support.   Any advise on the scope is welcome too.

I am going to head to the ranch tomorrow for a little afternoon shoot and figure out what power I want.....I am not sure if 6x will reach it.....If so you may have a winner in the Leupold....the bushnell 6500 with 80 MOA travel is also nice but then I go to a 1/4 adj as well....I was also think about a variable for thos small targets at 200 yds it may be nice to have a little more power.....

Sometimes I wish there were not soooo many choices....HAHAHA

Find a company that carries Stoney Point products. They make after market turrets for some of the more popular scopes. I have used them for many years and though not as good as factory turrets I have been satisfied to keep useing them. Good Luck!
