I bought another one of these stocks just 2 weeks ago, so I believe they are still available from Beretta.  Why not just buy one directly from Beretta and save money?  There's also one currently for sale on Gunbroker, but the seller is asking double the price you can get it from Beretta.

Oh, o.k.  I'll give some thought to selling one of mine, but I envisioned I might run into a good deal on another Mato rifle in the future and would have another nice stock for it.

Again, last I checked about 3 days ago, there was one for sale on Gunbroker.

Hey everyone,

I know this is a long shot, But...

Does anyone out there have one of the walnut stocks that Beretta purged a few years ago? I'm a little younger and missed that whole thing, lol. I am very interested in buying one.I hope there is one that never got used lying around. Not likely, but I gotta try. Yippee

Midwest has them still for sale, but for $650. I have a new baby and can't even come close to affording that. I'm looking around $250. That's just my budget and an 80% profit for someone who bought one of the purged ones.

They just had to wait 10 years to sell it, funny,

Thanks in advance, JW

Welcome to OT, Weminuche.

Finding anything for the Beretta Mato anymore is tough. I'm glad I bought 2 extra Mato magazines back when they were available.

I'm very surprised that Midwest still has some of the wood stocks for sale. You're simply never going to find the walnut stocks for anywhere close to what Beretta was unloading them for 10 years ago. That was an incredible deal back then. In my opinion, $650 is still a bargain for the quality of wood you get (or at least got at the time). Based solely on the wood grades I received on the 2 stocks I bought back then and the others I've seen, you can't even buy an unfinished wood blank alone of that quality level for $650 today, much less a nicely finished stock. I bought 2 of them back then, and I sold the one pictured in this thread only because the second one I bought was 3X nicer, with incredible fiddleback and contrast throughout that rivals any AAA wood blanks I've seen priced at over $1K. I still can't believe I actually paid $140.00 for that stock!

I do wish you luck in your quest though.

Ted

Copy all that.
I appreciate you confirming my suspicions. I knew this post was like looking through the Hubble telescope way out into the farthest reaches of the universe. Never know whats out there until you look. Just gotta try.

I will probably do a layaway deal through Midway if I can't find one in a couple of weeks.
I really liked the look of the ones you guys had on here. And there are some 24 hour campfire guys that scored those stocks as well. I'm super jealous!

And thanks for welcoming me with your info.

I know a Mato is a rare breed and the price is right one the one I'm buying.
It seems as the earlier models shot much better than the later production run, after Beretta acquired Sako.
And, it also seems that some calibers perform and behave better than others.
Anybody have any thoughts there?

I realize this is a dinosaur of a thread, but does anyone have an extra one of these wood mato stocks they would be willing to sell?
