Anyone tried to use something like these to cover the objective lenses on the Swarovski 8x30 rangefinder? http://www.swfa.com/pc-12893-1049-swarovski-8x30-slcnew-objective-lens-cover.aspx

I'd rather do that than carry that clunky plastic holder around all the time. But I was wondering if these would even work.

They may work on it. When I get back into the office Monday I would be happy to try it out if you're still interested.

Yes, I would still like to see if something would fit them. Thanks!

They're light enough that just the strap is okay. I usually tuck light binos right into my hunting vest or sometimes secure the strap under the chest strap of my pack to reduce swinging. I haven't ruled out using the plastic carrier with the pack though. It threads nicely onto the chest strap.

The item listed in the O.P. may work but I tried this item (http://www.swfa.com/pc-12730-512-swarovski-8x32-el-10x32-el-objective-cover.aspx) and they don't fit.

I ended up using trimmed down Butler Creek #20 (Objective) covers - an idea I borrowed from this article: http://www.snipercentral.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=17335&view=previous&sid=1cc3971dd7dda39e0019b734c9c18dd7

That works pretty well. I just did the objectives, however, since I have no problem with the included ocular cover.

Update: Lost both covers while just walking around during load testing. Looks like it's back to the stock Swaro case!
