Swarovski is now marketing several new bullet drop solutions.  The new BR reticle is similar to the TDS in regards to how it works but also incorporates mil-dots in between the hold over lines that can be used for ranging or for additional hold over references.  All sighting in with the new BR reticle is to be done at a 200 yard zero.

Versatility and customization is what makes this new system so unique.  By taking the guesswork out of hold over and offering a Ballistic Calculator on their website which allows you to have exact distances for all crosshairs and aiming points for any ballistic.

The Ballistic Turret (BT) gives the hunter the means to personalize the scope and to set a zero distance plus 3 more easy to set, see and use down range distances. Once set up, you simply turn the turret a few clicks up to the appropriate color-coded downrange distance, so you can hold the crosshair precisely where you want the bullet to hit. To get back to your zero setting, simply turn the turret back where it will automatically stop at your pre-set zero setting. The shooter will still have to accurately determine distance to the target (as with a laser range finder), account for wind when necessary, and keep in mind the limitations of the cartridge being used.

The necessary number of clicks can be determined by the BT Ballistic Calculator on their web site, by sighting in at the desired down range distance or by calling Swarovski Optik's Customer Service department at 800-426-3089.

Just got this from Swarovski today.

The new Z6 & Z6i 2.5-15x56 BT 30mm tube rifle scopes are now listed as a choice on the BT Ballistic Calculator on the United States web site. The BT turret allows the shooter to easily set 4 pre-set distances of your choosing for a dead on hold at those distances. A very common scenario for an eastern hunter is to set the scope to be dead on at 100, 200, 250, and 300 yards.  A western hunter may prefer to set the scope up to be dead on at 200, 300, 400 and 500 yards. By design, the maximum distances (depending on caliber) for the BT system is in the 500 to 800 yard range, more than sufficient for most hunting situations.

A BT system advantage is that it will not matter what magnification the scope is on for accurate results for those long downrange shots. Just set the BT to the desired distance, at any power, aim dead on and pull the trigger. Easy to set up, simple to use!!

The new Z6 2.5-15x56's feature a Hi-Definition Optical System, is parallax adjustable via a 3rd left turret, with a 6X magnification range from 2.5X to 15X. The field of view on this model is an incredibly wide 49.5 ft. at 100 yards at 2.5X!!

The Z6 2.5-15x56 BT is only offered with the Plex reticle (stock no. 59510) and is currently available.

The Z6i (illuminated) 2.5-15x56 BT will only be offered in the 4A-I reticle (stock no. 59558) and will be available from February 2009 onwards.
