Any thoughs or comment as to their use on low recoiling handguns. I was thinking about putting a 4-16x40 on my Encore 22-250.

I prefer a Burris 3-12x32 A/O handgun scope on rifle caliber TC's, but many people do use riflescopes on mild kicking calibers. Keep in mind that generally more magnification means less eye relief and a more critical eye relief. Different brands also have drastically different eye relief for scopes of the same magnification. Leupold tends to have the longest eye relief and would work best for your application. If you just have to go that route and require that much magnification, consider a Leupold 4-12x40 as it has an eye relief of 3.7" - 4.9". |
