I've been looking into new optics for an Airsoft rifle and it's quite long, so I want a scope that's 'proportionate' to the length of the gun, but my budget right now is... for lack of a better word, non-existent. So even being denied of Leapers and NcStar 6-24x50's, I found this. Quality is OBVIOUSLY lower(get what you pay for), but since my brothers Tasco's 3-9x40(using on a Marlin Semi-auto .22 of same age as scope) is still running and clear for more then 18 years or so, I'm not sure if it's even really worth getting. I don't plan on using anything more than the lowest magnificaion available on the scope(6x) since the ranges I'll be shooting at are around 250 feet. So I geuss what I really need to know is if the picture will be clear on that mag. Also, keep in mind that it won't be used anywhere but my land, so it's not like it'll be getting banged up and stuff(plinking).

P.S. Great forum, glad to be here.Big Grin

bushnell makes a lot of scopes in a 3x9 for less than $50, do you really need a 6x24?

well, that's the thing, it's gonna be spending some time on my entertainment center when I'm not shooting and I've seen how the average 3-9xanything's look on this gun and it's just funny. The gun in overall length is 45in. and I'll be adding a butt stock extension that'll add another 4-6in. to it. I figure a good 16.5in. scope with a 3in. or sunshade would look better compared to the 3-9's. My brothers 20 year old scope is like 11in. and I've got an NcStar 4x32 that's a tad longer and they both just look ridiculous. For pure functionality, no, I don't NEED the high mag.(unless I want to look 5 acres away into the living room of my neighbors and see what their watching on TV), but if I could find a 3-9 or even a 4-16 that's near 20in. in length, it'd be the perfect amount of mag.

the length thing may be an issue, you may want to look at scopes on www.swfa.com and see if you can find something.

I've been looking around at competitor com. I like their prices and inventory, but I'm looking at that site now. Thanks!

this is a little more money but come with a 5" shade that will give you 20" of length

that IS intriguing... Aren't BSA, Tasco, Barska, NcStar all in the same general quality pool? Though I'm pretty set on the Tasco, I still need an answer about the clarity of the scope at 250 ft on 6x. I've heard of the even the Leapers one's having clarity problems on high mag.???

Also, if you've had ANY experience's with the site I linked or even heard anything negative about them, please let me know.

Older Tasco which were made in Japan were good scopes. The other brands you mentioned are all poor in quality.Try shopping around the auction sites for a used Simmons Whitetail classic in that power range. That price range is only going to bring in the bottom of the barrel.Good Luck.
