I'm looking at two different scopes online and wondering about the quality differences between them. I've never handled either scope. I know the Burris is 42 mm obj so it will look a bit clearer at higher magnification.
The Nikon BDC retical should only work on one magnification, and is set up for a 55 gr bullet, and I shoot a 50 gr bullet.
What about clarity, "bang for the buck", rain and bangs, warranty, ease of sight in, clarity at low magnification, all the good stuff.

Don't know muck about the Nikon, but I like my Fullfield II Tactical 4.5-14x42 allot.  I mounted it on my winchester model 70 in 7mm Rem Mag and the 3rd hash mark on the Ballistic Plex Reticle was an inch high at 450 yards, with a 100 yard zero, I really like this reticle.  I think it one of the clearest scopes that I own and is fine at all magnifications.  The turret adjustment clicks are probably not the best out there but not bad by any means....12 1/2 moa per revolution.  With standard base's and leopold rings I have 19 1/2 moa elevation.  I am no expert but this is what I know hope it helps...
And as far as the BDC reticle being set up for a 55 grain bullet ...hum...I think there are to many other variables to be pinpoint acurate such as hieght of scope from center of bore, barrel length, and fps of round but should be just as good a reticle as the ballistic will just need to shoot them and map them at ranges..
I apologize for the spelling, just a redneck with a three year old on my lap while I type
