i'm trying to choose between the fullfield 6.5-20-50, signature 6-24-50 and the buckmaster 6-18-40.........for a varmint scope.

firstly, which one has the largest field of view??
second, which has the most appropriate reticle.....fine plex or plex?[i really like the nikoplex]
thirdly, if it comes down to burris, is the signature worth the extra $$$

please weigh in koshkin, and anyone else who has looked through all respective scopes.chris???

Burris 6.5-20x50 Fullfield II Rifle Scope

Field of View @ 100yds (ft):18 - 6

Nikon 6-18x40 Buckmaster Riflescope

Field of View @ 100 yards (ft):16.1 - 5.92

The fine plex might work better for smaller targets at long range.

The Signature is definitely an improvement in contrast and brightness over the FFII. This helps when shooting a lot at small targets.

so do those stats mean that to look through both scopes at full power the image i see is the same size. i have mentioned this before in previous posts, and i ask because the monarch i have just bought, though very good, bright and clear, does have a noticeably smaller sight image than other scopes i have compared it to. the field of view stats says at 20x it has 5ft compared to the burris above with 6ft. though i'd bet the image in the burris is noticeably bigger. this i assume is all about the ocular configuration and focal length etc. hence my question asking which scope has largest field of view, as i now realise this is something i'd like in a scope. i don't need eye relief as i'm shooting a 223!???

any scope suggestions for spotlight small varmint work. would like up to 20x with large bell, large field of view and preferrably under $500.bipod at stationary targets.
