I am looking to put a scope on my remington 700 bdl chambered in .270.  i have been researching the fullfield II and have found it to be resonably priced but have not heard many testimonials from users.  I was hoping to get some opinions about the scope.  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

If it helps any I will be using the rifle to hunt wisconsin whitetails in hardwoods with no shot being over 150 yds.

And I am open to any suggestions on other scopes to look at.  My price range is $200-350.

Thanks

Bob-o

I bought one earlier this year, a 4.5x14x42 with the b-plex reticle.  I love it.  I used it near Eau Claire last weekend for a nubby in T-Zone.  I have it mounted on a Savage 112 BVSS in 7mm Rem Mag.  It was $270 on the internet, so it is right in your range.

At first and last light the image was plenty bright.  It is my first Burris scope, and I would not hesitate to buy another.  I have looked through $600 scopes that friends/relatives have and cannot justify the addtional cost at all.

The Burris is a good scope.  I would also look at the Nikon Monarch and the Weaver Grand Slam.

Thanks for the info.  What magnification do you suggest?  I was looking at 3x9x40.  From what i have read from previous post this will be plenty of scope and be bright enough for dawn and dusk.  I was also looking at the 3200 with the firefly retical.  Is there any feedback on the bushnell?

Bob-o,

I just put the fullfield II (3-9x40) on a .270 and it's great.  Most of my shots are more than 150 yards.  If your shots are less than 150, you might want to consider a lower magnification range, such as 1.75-5.

Bill

btw, is the initial of your last name 'P'?

Thanks BIll,

I would consider the lower magnification but most of the deer that i have shot have been early in low light situations, plus the free binos with a 3x9 burris have me leaning towards getting that.  does anyone know if the free binos are any good?

Bob-o

It's B not P

Burris fullfield is not what is used to be.

Burris allways is proud to tell MADE IN AMERICA SCOPES, but sadly they make a real bad think, A few years ago they start the production of fullfield outside america .

I think : I only buy burris because it is made in america........if I wish a scope made in a THIRD WORLD COUNTRY of course I can choose tons of models cheaper than the fullfield !
