I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with these porro prism binoculars from Fujinon.
I found them on their web-site and would like to know more about them. They are from their Nautilus series. Thanks Edited by Bird Watcher |

I have some of the 7x50 FMT-SX, which are traditional 'marine' binoculars; individual focus, porro prism, waterproof, durable, kind of heavy for a lot of people, and very good resolution. You can't see the detail that they provide unless you set them on a tripod. I found them to better than everything but the Nikon Prostar 7x50 when I was looking, the Nikons were better at the edges, but the Fujinons seemed to have better color transmission, had the tripod mount built in, better eye relief, seemed to be about as good in the center of the field, and were half as much at the time.
The FMT-SX 10x70 and 16x70 are traditional excellent astronomy binoculars, kind of a common reference really, as are the 7x50. The 6x30 aren't very common but have also received excellent reviews, very good at the edges as I recall. The 8x30 and 10x50 also get good reviews. I'd look at the 10x50 if I were getting another pair, but otherwise consider mine a lifetime buy. |

They are OK for the money, but not in the same league as the more expensive Polaris series. There used to be 6x30 FMTR-SX, now that was a real gem! Unfortunately they have been discontinued a little while back. ILya |

koskin,
Thanks, perhaps I will see what I can come up with, on the internet, for the 6x30FMTR-SX. Were they part of your collection of binocular optics at one time? Edited by Bird Watcher |

Unfortunately, I never bought them. I really should have. I did spend a fair amount of time with them though. If you find someone who still has them, let me know. ILya |

Nope.
They never even charged my credit card. I am guessing that they simply did not update the website when the product was discontinued. ILya |
