I am looking for a scope for my rem 700 in 300 win mag. I had a sightron sII big sky 3-12x42 which I really liked but had to move to a 338 win mag for hunting in Alaska so now I need a new scope for my rem 700. I want to upgrade to an even better scope. It will be used for hunting for ranges 0(almost literally) to 500 yds so the low end magnification can't be too high. I would like to keep the cost under $1200 although I am wavering at times. I will be hiking long distances with it so I don't want a heavy scope.
These are the 2 which make me waver on price. Which is prefered BT or BRX reticle http://swfa.com/Swarovski-35-18x44-Z5-Riflescope-P40824.aspx http://swfa.com/Swarovski-35-18x44-Z5-Riflescope-P40825.aspx Samplelist http://www.samplelist.com/Swarovski-35-18x44-Z5-Rifle-Scope-DEMO-B-P87830.aspx http://www.samplelist.com/Swarovski-4-12x50-Z3-Rifle-Scope-DEMO-A-P83800.aspx Again, hunting turret vs Rapid Z reticle http://swfa.com/Zeiss-3-15x42-Conquest-HD5-Rifle-Scope-P60843.aspx http://swfa.com/Zeiss-3-15x42-Conquest-HD5-Rifle-Scope-P60841.aspx http://swfa.com/Minox-3-15x50-ZA5-HD-30mm-Riflescope-P65429.aspx http://swfa.com/Nikon-3-15x42-Monarch-5-Riflescope-P79627.aspx Here is one on the samplelist. I would much prefer the target turret with the IBS reticle but those disappear off the samplelist as soon as the get posted. http://www.samplelist.com/Leica-35-14x42-ER-Rifle-Scope-DEMO-C-P87670.aspx http://www.samplelist.com/Zeiss-3-12x50-Conquest-DL-Rifle-Scope-DEMO-B-P87184.aspx http://www.samplelist.com/Leupold-3-18x44-VX-6-Riflescope-DEMO-A-P85311.aspx

Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

After much research, I ended up buying the Zeiss Conquest HD 3-15x50 with the target turret. I got a deal I could not resist on an open box scope.
