Can anyone give me an overview of either the 10x50 or the 12x50 Vortex Razor HD. Positives? Negatives? Not looking to know about other options in its class just wanna know about these. Any input is appreciated thanks! |

Those are solid options optically in both configurations.
The standout feature is the light weight. It is great when you are hauling them around, but can add to the challenge of keeping the view steady. Vortex backs up their stuff, too.

My experiences comparing the Razor HD 10x42's to the Swaros and Zeiss Alpha glass in store, outside both daylight to beyond dusk, 3 different days over the past year: Pros: * very compact and light weight...the smallest and lightest in that class. * Almost as razor sharp as the SLC, EL and FL offerings. * Focus control was extremely smooth and precise, with no lag in response either way. * Felt very well built...not a tank, but finesse construction. Cons: * However In all viewing situations, noted a slight yellow hue\bias to the image...didn't appear as natural color as the above mentioned high end optics. * I also wasn't impressed with the lack of 3-D depth. FOV was great, but the image felt somewhat collapsed on itself and didn't pull you in to the scene. * Very good low light performer, but not equal to those at +$500 more. Overall, just some of my .02 cent observations! Ted |

I just got my new pair of Razor HD's. So far they are great! No complaints other than the tripod adapter socket is on the front of the binos if your looking at them in between the objective lenses. So how in the world do you attach them to a tripod or bipod? Is there a 90 degree angle attachment that you have to purchase through Vortex?

I have to agree. I also have the 8X42's and I have been exceptionally pleased with them.
