what would you recammend for the rifle Savage MKII FVSR ? I'm eying the Super sniper 6X or the 10x. I know it will be shot out past the normal 50 or 100 yard and will be a squirrel gun a few times a year.

any suggestions?

I would think the 6x.  I'm thinking of getting one for my CZ 22WMR.

I'd put a 2-7X32 Viper on it.

I've actually got a diamondback on my 22WMR at the moment.  It's ok, not great, but the illumination is nice for hunting varmints at night.

Zeiss makes a 1.2-5x36 and a 2-8x42 in the Conquest DL line.

I use a 2-7 Redfield on my squirrel rifle.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

I am also considering a scope for hunting varmints at night but you say your diamondback is not great at it.  Would you then suggest a great scope .

For a hundred yard 22 I would go with a 6X.  Also, at my age, I like a 6X at 50 yards.

I have… several years ago it was a pretty good scope… then something happened and QC went way down.  You can still find a good one, but it may take several iterations.  Why not an ATN 6-18x65???
