the bushnell legend is a 3200 elite  essentially, it has a few differences. the 3200 is multi coated the legend is fully multi coated.the legend has 30 more clicks of adjustment . i do believe that if you buy a 50mm you would also have to buy taller rings.

What JG says.   If you MUST stay at or around $200 you'd not go wrong with an FFII.  But IF you could go another $100 the 4200 would DEFINITELY be money well spent.

Nothing wrong with a 50mm.  It's just that when buying lower priced scopes, for the most part, your better off to go with the std versions (3-9x40 ,2-7x?,fixed power,etc.).  OR take the money you'd spend on the fancier low end scope and move up a level to a std version of a better scope which because of the better lenses/coatings will give you the same or better light transmission that the cheaper 50mm would. Plus you get a better built scope.
The 4200 CANNOT be beat for the money.

Stay away from 50m objectives for deer hunting.  You'll save some $$ and get all the performance you need past legal shooting with a good 40mm obj scope.  I like the Burris FFII rec mentioned here, as well as a $250 Elite 4200 3-9x40 which is fantastic.

The Bushnell Legend series has always been among the best of the entry level scopes.

Where you hunt what do you think the longest shot might be?  Is it mostly swampy, dense woods or some large open fields?

Do you think you might end up doing some hog hunting too?

You might be better off with a scope that has lower magnification than 10x (definitely lower than the 6-20x).

Maybe the Nikon Monarch 2-8x or Vortex Viper 2-7x that are a little over $200 would be a good fit, better quality than the $80-200 scopes and more proportionate to your rifle and hunting environment.
