I just ordered a new Henry Lever action rifle chambered in .22 LR. Here is a link to the gun I have ordered: http://www.henryrepeating.com/h001t_leveroctagon.cfm which will be here in a day or so. The receiver is grooved for a scope to be mounted and I am planning on purchasing a 3 x 9 x 40 mm scope to put on this rifle. My primary purpose for this rifle is to use it for small game (squirrell) hunting and just general plinking around.
Here's my question... Do I need to purchase a scope with an extra long eye relief so that I can be sure of being able to get the scope set to my eye correctly when I shoulder the rifle or will just a scope with the standard eye relief work fine? I have never owned a lever action rifle before and I just don't know what to do on matching a scope to the rifle style.
I am looking at the Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn series in the 3 x 9 x 40 mm and it can be purchased with a 3.3", 4" or 6" eye relief. Which one (eye relief) will I need to purchase for this style rifle?
Thanks for all of your expert help!

Yes, or else you'll have to add six inches of wood to the back of your buttstock because the gun companies in the world only make rifles for pygmies. --Soapbox Complainer Ed
