Weather you resize the neck or full lengh of the case, Mic it afterwards to insure proper case lengh. If you only resize the neck, you'll need a universal decapping die for the primers, also always trim brass with the primer pocket empty.  And yes even if your not OCD prone "you will be, you will be!!!!!"   LOL

Why would I need a universal decapping die for a neck-sized case?  I don't understand...the decapper included in my Redding deluxe die set won't work?

You don't really NEED a universal de-capping die, but some guys like to use them to de-prime because they can then go back and neck-size the case in a die that has the expander ball (and thus also the decapping pin) removed. By doing this you are only closing the neck diameter, not closing it and then having the expander ball enlarge it again on the way back out.   The idea behind this is to prevent you from working the brass any more than absolutely necessary. It only works well in some applications though, depending on chamber dimensions, brass ductility and other factors.

That's one other thing, always do anything with reloading when you have no distractions and take your time.

I'm prepaired to buy a new set if this doesn't workout, but that was the only way I could see to get the rest of it out.

If you send the die back to the manufacturer, they will remove a stuck case for a few bucks. I don't know if all do, though.

rcbs does, i built my own stuck case remover but that doesnt really work when the case seperates, i would try to take the decapping pin out and either tap it or use the ezee out

You really shouldn't use a torch on it!  Steel has bad things start happening to it at 700 F.or so, even if it doesn't melt for a couple thousand.

By the time you factor in shipping and time delay, Dale at Ssimmons has RCBS die set for .308 out the ears. If this doesn't work, Dale makes a sale.
