Hi
I'm new here and just bought my first center fire rifle its a Special order Savage 10 Predator Hunter 22-250 with a matt black barrel and black stock I spent a little more than I planed so my scope money is $250.00 max I would like to get one with a milladot rectical in 4-16x40 or something close to that.

http://www.swfa.com/pc-10572-1507-mueller-4-16x50-tactical-riflescope.aspx alot to look at, here is two that will be in your price range that get good reviews from their owners....I personally have two and am completely happy with them.

I have been looking at that 4-16x50 Mueller.But was wondering what kind of rings to use.

Burris signitures or talley lightweights in high would probably do the trick for height.
