i am thinking of putting a fixed power scope on a Tikka T3 hunter in .308.
I won't shoot into the next county, so i don't need high power, but i do like wide angle, good quality, and simplicity. The rifle/scope will be used for deer and hogs. I would like to stay between $250 and $400.
Any suggestions?
Where are the Zeiss Conquest 4x32 made?
What other 4x32 or 6x30ish are out there?
Thank you for your advice.

the 4x32 conquest AND IOR hunting are great scopes.

the eye relief and exit pupil on both will be very very easy on the eyes.

if you can find a 4x40 monarch UCC, that is also very good if you don't mind a thinner reticle.

good luck.

The Conquests are made in the USA.

Then Zeiss Conquest 4x32 it is. After all, it will be paid for by that economic stimulus package that they are talking about on TV. It would be a pitty to stimulate China's economy with that money wouldn't it?

I do suspect that the lenses of the Conquest scopes come from factories in Hungary or the Czech Republic.

The conquests are assembled, stocked, and distributed/serviced in the US. They are also a rugged compact scope with good eye relief.

anweis,

I have the Zeiss Conquest 4X32 with the #20 Z-Plex reticle, and it's a great little scope!  It's fairly light, fairly compact, and has great optics.  I love it!

As stated, it is Assembled in the US with German made components.  I'm not sure about where the glass comes from.  I've heard various rumors, but cannot confirm.

All I know is that it says "assembled in USA" on it and that it's a nice scope that I'm quite fond of.
