Is there a binoculars ranking anywhere on this site similar to the rifle scope rankings?
Thanks, Sam _popupControl(); |

Good post, as it would be very informative, i'd also like to see all the optics broken down by price point, say low, mid and high end as it pretains to optics quality. I realize this would be cumbersum and very objective but it sure would be an usefull, especially for us less informed. Come to think of it, I guess thats what this forum is all about in the first place.

I could be wrong but don't so and I agree it would be very helpful. There seems to have been a lot of work and in put to create the rifle scope list. Thank you to those responsible!!

Comparisons, rankings, reviews, testing, etc. can be found all over the internet.
Some are focused at astronomy/stargazing, others are focused on birdwatchers, and still others are targeting the hunting community.
And, of course, all are different (comparisons, reviews, tests) because everyone behind a binocular is looking for something different than the next person.
Some of the reviews/testers are influenced by $$$$$, so, certain brands/companies will be favored over others.
Still, some information is better than nothing at all.
If you read enough comparisons, rankings, reviews, tests, hopefully some similarities will begin to stand out from all the mountains of information, and you can begin to make some educated choices.
Just do some searches, and you will be busy for a lifetime.
Better than that, go to your local, major, sporting goods store(s) and start doing some comparisons of your own.

been there done that... surfing the net reading reviews,
testers, etc. is why I settled on this place. The TBONE Rifle Scope
Ranking was created as a collaborative and appears not influenced by what you've mentioned. The ranking was based on: 1. Optical Quality - How bright and clear the scope is. It'd be great to see a similar list created for bino's which I
believe is highly possible. Rifle scopes can be specialized equipment as well and can't be
summed up into one category. Someone wants a hunting scope, another a target scope, long range, etc.
I wish we had local shop by us with a large selection but they don't have squat
so I end up visiting Cabelas and Bass Pro when I'm out of state like this week

I did Google for more information but quickly got overwhelmed. I guess I don't have the background (optics) to sift through all the hyperbole that is out there! I thought it would help if a fellow hunter who knows what he/she is looking at optically speaking could distill all that information and share with us.
