Would like your thoughts on which scopes to mount on my rifles.  I have purchased 3 new scopes and I'm not sure which to put where.  I do know that I will be putting the new Kahles CL 3-10X50 on my BAR 30-06.  What's left is:

BAR .243     (my 13 yr old Son's Deer rifle)  currently has a Nikon Buckmaster 3-9X40
Rem. 700 .223 (my varmit rifle)  currently has Redfield Golden 5 Star 3-9X40
Savage 11 22-250 (11 yr old Son's varmit rifle) currently has Fulfield II 3-9X40 Balistic plex
Savage 11 .204 (future B-day gift for 13 yr Son) no scope
Savage 93R17   (my small game rifle) currently has Redfield Gold. 5 Star 4-12X40AO

This leaves me with a Weaver Grand Slam 3.5-10X50 (coming off the BAR 30-06)
a new 4200 Elite 3-9X40 and a Simmons .22 Mag 3-9X32.

Was going to trade-in the Weaver, but wonder if I should put that on my Son's .243.  My concern would be the weight.  Other option would be to put the new 4200 on the .243.  I'm thinking the Weaver may be better in low light than the 4200.

My least favorite scope is the Burris FFII.  Also, my younger son will be able to hunt deer this upcoming fall.  Not sure how soon, but will be getting a suitable rifle for him and it will need a scope as well.  He does not like auto's, so the weight of the Weaver won't be as big of a concern if I don't mount it on the BAR.

Lastly, I do have another 93R17 that is wearing a 4X32, so I don't have to put the new Simmons on my 17, I could leave the 4-12X40AO on it.
take em!

Curious, how does your new 4200 compare to your weaver grand slam in all areas including low light comparison?

I'd move the Redfield off the .223 and on to the .204.  Then I'd put the 4200 on the .223.   Then I'd leave things alone for awhile.
